Redefining the Groom’s Experience: The Gents Styled Shoot
Weddings have long been centered around the bride—but today’s couples are rewriting that narrative. Because your wedding isn’t just a beautiful event… it’s a shared experience, a reflection of your relationship, and a chapter in your story that deserves to include both of you fully.
So let’s ask the question:
What does it look like when the groom is just as seen, celebrated, and prepared?
The Gents Styled Shoot answered that question in a bold and meaningful way.
More Than Support—Grooms Deserve to Be Included
Too often, grooms are treated as an afterthought in the planning process—shown the final decisions instead of being invited into them.
But here’s the truth:
When grooms are included in the planning and grooming experience, everything shifts.
- The day feels more connected and intentional
- The couple shares the experience—not just the outcome
- The groom shows up confident, relaxed, and fully present
- The memories become richer for everyone involved
This isn’t about “helping out the bride.”
This is about honoring the groom’s role, style, relationships, and presence.
And that starts long before the wedding day.
The Vision Behind The Gents Styled Shoot
The catalyst behind this powerful concept? JD Barba, a master of modern men’s grooming, envisioned a space where grooms and their crew could experience meaningful preparation in a masculine, stylish way.
This vision was brought to life in full collaboration with MJK Events—where creating intentional, inclusive experiences is at the heart of everything we do.
Because when both partners are poured into, the entire celebration feels different.
Collaboration Was Key
Any successful wedding—or meaningful experience—thrives on collaboration.
Every event professional involved brought their expertise and creativity, working together seamlessly to elevate not just the look, but the feeling of the day.
The result?
A powerful celebration of style, connection, and brotherhood—captured in stunning imagery and film.

The Visual Story
The shoot was beautifully captured by AZ Wedding Photography and Tiffany & Ryland Photography, documenting everything from quiet moments of preparation to bold expressions of personal style.
Jay Smiley Films and Lee Media preserved the movement and emotion of the day—telling a story that grooms everywhere can finally see themselves in.

A Grooming Experience Worth Celebrating
The day began with a luxury grooming experience led by JD Barba—setting the tone for what the groom’s preparation should feel like.
This wasn’t rushed or routine.
It was intentional.
When grooms are given time and space to prepare:
- Confidence replaces stress
- Presence replaces pressure
- Style becomes an extension of personality
From haircuts and beard detailing to skincare and styling, this experience showed that grooming is not vanity—it’s preparation for one of the most meaningful days of your life.
And when the groom feels good?
It shows in every photo, every interaction, every moment.

Create Space for the Gents During Planning
Including the groom isn’t just about the wedding day—it’s about the planning journey.
Here are ways to intentionally bring the gents into the process:
- Invite them into design conversations that reflect their style
- Build out a getting-ready experience that feels authentic to them
- Include their interests (music, drinks, games, atmosphere)
- Give them ownership over moments that matter—like vows, guest experience, or personal details
When couples plan together, the wedding becomes less about expectations… and more about shared meaning.
Whiskey, Cigar Lounges, and Game Tables
The experience continued with curated elements designed specifically for the groom and his circle:
- A whiskey tasting experience with personalized details hosted by Liquid Wanderer
- A cigar lounge for a classic, relaxed vibe
- Game tables that brought laughter and connection
These weren’t just “extras.”
They were intentional moments of bonding—turning the morning into a memory, not just a timeline.

- A cigar lounge experience courtesy of HC Mobile Cigar Lounge for that classic gentleman’s vibe.

- Queen of Hearts Casino Parties brought a little competitive fun with card playing and laughter all around.

Two Distinct Themes
We designed two concepts to reflect the diversity of today’s grooms:
Country Chic – relaxed, rustic, and grounded with a beautiful macramé altar backdrop handcrafted by The Weaving Wolfe
We designed two styled concepts to inspire different types of grooms and aesthetics:
- Country Chic: A relaxed and rustic vibe —perfect for the laid-back, outdoorsy groom.

- Urban Romance – bold, refined, and dramatic with a striking red rose backdrop and lush aisle florals provided by Milestone Luxury Rentals. This theme gave city sophistication with a romantic edge.

Because there is no one way to “be a groom.”
And your wedding should reflect your story—not a template.
Styled from Head to Toe
From tailored tuxedos to thoughtful accessories, every detail reinforced one message:
Grooms deserve to feel just as put together, styled, and celebrated.
And yes—even foot care and comfort were part of the experience.
Because confidence starts from the ground up.
- Tuxedos were provided by Celebrity Tux and Tails, delivering timeless style with a modern fit.

- Bridal fashion was showcased with elegant gowns from Ohana Bridal.

- And to ensure comfort beneath the style, Essential Feet treated everyone to foot pampering services.

Reception Ready Details
The reception design came to life with the help of Day of Event Help, who styled guest tables to reflect each shoot theme. All of this took place at the elegant and flexible Expansive Cooper Crossing and Cleo Patio, a venue that beautifully supported both the rustic and urban design concepts.

A charming retro photobooth by Snapshot Photobooth added even more personality and captured joyful moments from behind the scenes.

Why This Matters
This wasn’t just about creating beautiful images.
It was about shifting the narrative.
When grooms are included in both the planning and the grooming experience:
- Couples feel more connected leading into the wedding
- The day reflects both personalities—not just one
- The energy is balanced, calm, and intentional
- The memories are shared, not divided
Your wedding is not a performance—it’s a partnership.
And both people deserve to feel fully seen in it.
