Weddings have long been focused on the bride, but what about the groom? The Gents Styled Shoot was inspired by the idea that grooms deserve just as much attention, pampering, and celebration on the big day.
The catalyst behind this powerful concept? JD Barba, a master of modern men’s grooming, envisioned a space where grooms and their crew could experience meaningful preparation in a masculine, stylish way. This vision was brought to life in full collaboration with MJK Events, where creating intentional and inclusive experiences is what we do best.
Collaboration Was Key
Any successful wedding, party, or styled shoot thrives on collaboration, and this event was no exception. Every participating event professional brought their absolute best, working together seamlessly as a team. The results? A powerful celebration of style, luxury, and friendship, with the proof captured in stunning imagery and video.
The Visual Story
We’re proud to share that the shoot was visually captured by two of Arizona’s most talented teams: AZ Wedding Photography and Tiffany & Ryland Photography. Their unique perspectives ensured that every detail—from quiet moments to bold fashion—was documented with artistry and authenticity.
The emotion and motion of the day were masterfully preserved by Jay Smiley Films and Lee Media, who delivered breathtaking footage that brings the entire vision to life. Their storytelling captured not just a look, but a feeling—one that grooms everywhere can now see and connect with.

A Grooming Experience Worth Celebrating
The day began with a luxury grooming session by JD Barba—an elevated experience designed to help each groom and groomsman feel confident and ready. The atmosphere was relaxed and masculine, with each guy receiving top-tier attention and styling.
Whiskey, Cigar Lounges, and Game Tables
Forget the stereotypes—grooms can absolutely indulge in a curated experience that reflects their style. Highlights of the shoot included:
- A whiskey tasting hosted by Liquid Wanderer, with each man receiving a custom engraved glass and leather-covered flask personalized by Rox Ink Calligraphy.
- A cigar lounge experience courtesy of HC Mobile Cigar Lounge for that classic gentleman’s vibe.
- Queen of Hearts Casino Parties brought a little competitive fun with card playing and laughter all around.
Two Distinct Themes
We designed two styled concepts to inspire different types of grooms and aesthetics:
- Country Chic: A relaxed and rustic vibe with a beautiful macramé altar backdrop handcrafted by The Weaving Wolfe—perfect for the laid-back, outdoorsy groom.
- Urban Romance: Bold, elegant, and dramatic with a striking red rose backdrop and lush aisle florals provided by Milestone Luxury Rentals. This theme gave city sophistication with a romantic edge.
Styled from Head to Toe
- Tuxedos were provided by Celebrity Tux and Tails, delivering timeless style with a modern fit.
- Bridal fashion was showcased with elegant gowns from Ohana Bridal.
- And to ensure comfort beneath the style, Essential Feet treated everyone to foot pampering services.
Reception Ready Details
The reception design came to life with the help of Day of Event Help, who styled guest tables to reflect each shoot theme. All of this took place at the elegant and flexible Expansive Cooper Crossing and Cleo Patio, a venue that beautifully supported both the rustic and urban design concepts.
A charming retro photobooth by Snapshot Photobooth added even more personality and captured joyful moments from behind the scenes.
Why It Matters
This shoot wasn’t just about pretty photos (though we got plenty of those). It was about proving a point: grooms matter. Their experience matters. And they deserve to be pampered, celebrated, and surrounded by thoughtful, intentional design just like the bride.
