Anna & Brian's wedding at the University Club June 18, 2011

First and foremost, I want to say "Congratulations!!" to Anna & Brian.  They are a very cute couple who met on a educational trip to Paris.  Isn't that romantic, to be able to tell your kids you met and fell in love in Paris.  I met Anna and her family when she was about 9 or 10.  She and her sister used to babysit for my 3 children.  Anyone who knows me, knows I didn't leave my children with too many people.  It has been a pleasure to watch her grow up and mature into a beautiful woman.  She has proven and given me hope that it is possible to raise sweet, moral, clear thinking, positive kids into adults.  Brian, I have recently met and he seems like a great guy.  His family seems very close which I find to be very sweet.

Anna & Brian planned a beautiful wedding.  It was held at the University Club in Phoenix.  This venue is quaint, cozy, historic and cool.  Because of the size of the venue and guest list, we were constantly on the move.  This was nice because we had many opportunities to meet people and see many different areas.  The ceremony was outside, cocktail hour was inside, introducing the bridal party was outside, dinner was inside, cake, toasts and dancing was outside.

Some of my favorite moments during the ceremony were; Lisa (Anna's mom) walking down the aisle with her sister's at her side, Anna's grandmother being determined to walk down the aisle (even though she is pretty much confined to a wheelchair), the smile on Bucky's face (Anna's dad) as he was escorting his daughter down the aisle, the way Anna kept looking to her mom and dad during the ceremony, their vows, the box that Brian's dad made for them to put letters to each other (they are supposed to open the box at their 10 year anniversary) and seeing her sister Rachel tearing up a little during the ceremony.Even though, there were 2 rooms for dinner, I thought they did a great job of splitting up the crowd and the bridal party between the two rooms.  Rachel did a great job with her toast and had some people wondering what she was about to say in regards to Mexico and her boyfriend.  The DJ played some good music and kept the party going until it needed to end at 10.  My son, who doesn't like to show his dance skills too often, even got out there and danced.

Anna & Brian - you threw your first party as man and wife and you did a great job.  There was a lot of your personality and family values in your celebration and I loved it.  Enjoy being married, good luck to you with your future schooling and life together.  I hope you will add me to your Christmas card list.

Anna at the end of the night
